My students love it. We do the routine as part of our morning schedule. Thanks for creating such a fun and energizing way to exercise. Its wonderful!

I introduced a programme based on your Wake Up Shake Up programme into 2 preschools and we are already seeing improvements in their attention and coordination and they love it.

My class of 10 KS2 Autistic pupils took to it immediately and on the first go my colleague who teaches PE said they had all been more active in 10 mins than they had EVER been in any PE lesson!

WUSU Competitions
This was a successful development where by the young Wake Up Shake Up leaders were encouraged to devise their own routines.
They hold their own Wake Up Shake Up competition in school, then the winners take part in the local schools’ cluster competition. These winners then take part in the annual SSP Championships.
Originally it was just for KS2 pupils, but due to overwhelming demand a KS1 section was introduced, with a little more support allowed from teachers. They really rose to the challenge and it was great to see what they could do.
Here’s how it was done, to save you ‘re-inventing the wheel’. We sent out the following criteria to everyone taking part.

Who did the judging?
For local competitions - a teacher/adult from each school, and then they abstained from voting for their own school; or dance leaders from the partner Secondary School and their teachers were involved.
For the finals – a panel of about 6 people, taken from SSCOs, aerobics specialists and impartial interested primary teachers.
