CEO of Wake Up Shake Up Productions and creator of the original Wake Up Shake Up programme back in 2002. Ruth was a Secondary PE teacher for most of her career. She then became a School Sports Coordinator in 2000 and a Partnership Development Manager in 2003. Ruth took early retirement in 2008 to focus on developing the Wake Up Shake Up resources to meet the increasing demand for the programme, both in the UK and internationally.
2014 sees Ruth standing down from the day-to-day running of the business and handing over to her youngest daughter, Ellie.
Managing Director and Creative Assistant. Ellie is a part-time primary school teacher in Cornwall. She passionately believes in the benefits that daily physical activity (DPA) have had on her pupils and actively encourages daily Wake Up Shake Up in her school.
Ellie is delighted to have the opportunity to take Wake Up Shake Up into the next phase, conscious of the growing need to address children’s physical and emotional health issues.
Creative Assistant. Clare is Head of PE in a large Academy in Cornwall. Throughout her teaching career she has made use of the Wake Up Shake Up programme, working with Young Leaders delivering in local primary schools, as well as using it to re-engage disaffected teenage girls.
Creative Assistant. Emma is a lecturer in a Post 16 setting and is an experienced dancer. As a mum of 6 year old twins, she understands not only the need to get children active from a young age, but also the huge enjoyment children can get from movement to music.
Videographer and Production Manager. Colin has worked with Ruth on the Wake Up Shake Up programme since its inception in 2002. His work is instrumental in its success.
